Second Phase at Hartlepool Sixth Form College

Having completed the feasibility study for Hartlepool Sixth Form College's new campus building we have been appointed to carry out the next phase of the project which will take the design from RIBA Stage C through to construction.

The retention of the historic Merchant's House building, through its incorporation into an ETFE roofed circulation space, retains the College's identity and provides an internal environment of unique and distinctive character. New build accommodation to the front and rear of the existing building provides modern and flexible teaching and learning space which has been designed to maximise opportunities for natural light and ventilation.

The scheme which has now been submitted for planning approval incorporates a range of sustainable design features including ground source heat pumps, rainwater harvesting and solar water heating.
