HM Government Skills Pledge
Jefferson Sheard has committed to undertake the 'HM Government Skills Pledge'.
The Skills Pledge initiative coordinated by the Learning and Skills Council encourages employers to be publicly accountable for their commitment to learning. The Skills Pledge is turning good intentions into sustained learning and development in the workplace.
Margaret Lowe, our Practice Manager attended a recent event in Liverpool organised by Merseytravel to sign on behalf of Jefferson Sheard to undertake the pledge.
The Skills Pledge is a commitment to the following actions:
-
To actively encourage and support our employees to gain the skills and qualifications that will support their future employability and meet the needs of our business;
-
To actively encourage and support our employees to improve their skills, and with Government support work towards new qualifications in areas that are relevant to our business;
-
To demonstrably raise our employees' skills and competencies to improve company performance through investing in economically valuable training and development.
Over the past year there has been a shift in emphasis of the Skills Pledge and just as Investors in People, the Skills Pledge is as relevant to managers as it is to workers who may have yet to achieve any qualifications.
We are confident that by adopting this initiative Jefferson Sheard will further enhance the skills of all employees and efficiently succeed in continuous improvement of the company.
