Architects get creative in the season of goodwill!
The team at Jefferson Sheard Architects in Sheffield has been busy discovering innovative ways to raise money for charity this winter, as Santas with giant hearts join a Mr. Movember in the company’s efforts to make a difference.
Last Sunday 11th December, a team of Jefferson Sheard Santas entered into the spirit of things in the season of goodwill. The company representatives made it their mission to run Sheffield’s annual Santa Jog in aid of the British Heart Foundation’s battle against heart disease. Although the devoted joggers had already raised £352 in sponsorship donations by the big day, their santa suits must have spread some Christmas cheer as the figure continued to rise, finally reaching over £400. Following a mass warm up, the architects joined around 375 other Santa Joggers in the fight for healthy hearts, running a mile from Sheffield city centre’s Tudor Square in full Santa Claus fancy dress. Jefferson Sheard employee and official santa jogger Katrin Milano commented: “We all had a lot of fun at the Sheffield Santa Jog and enjoyed raising both funds and awareness for the British Heart Foundation. I’d like to thank everyone who has sponsored us and also the BHF for organising the event.”
This Christmas cheer followed November's events which saw Jefferson Sheard’s resident “Mo Bro” Steve Whiteside contributing £105 to the self-proclaimed global movement of Movember purely through the power of his moustache. The Movember charity event aims to raise awareness and funds for male health issues, and has seen a rise in popularity over recent years. Every donation made through the event goes to men’s health charities that Movember is partnered with, so the cash raised from this fun charity event went to a worthy cause.
