Shaun Dooley to join in Barnsley celebrations!

Jefferson Sheard Architects look forward to joining Barnsley College when they mark the official opening of the newly completed Old Mill Lane site and Urban Park on Thursday 31^st May.

The event will be honoured with a multitude of festivities led by a trio of well-known faces - Barnsley-born actor Shaun Dooley, Yorkshire’s Capital FM DJ Simon Hurst, and cricket legend Dickie Bird OBE will all be making an appearance.

The Grand Opening, which coincides with the College’s annual Equality and Diversity celebrations, is set to take place in the innovative new Urban Park and Atrium and will boast performances, games, student-led building tours, interactive craft sessions by Art & Design students and a balloon launch.

Colin Booth, Principal of Barnsley College said “The Grand Opening event will provide an excellent opportunity for members of the local community to see our outstanding facilities and experience a showcase of our students’ work as well as celebrate the hard work and commitment of Barnsley College, Jefferson Sheard Architects and Miller Construction.”

Members of the public are encouraged to join in the revelries for free between 12 noon and 4.30pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
