Stourbridge Interchange Officially Open

The new £6m Stourbridge Interchange opened this Sunday in Dudley, West Midlands, bringing a highly original piece of architecture to the region which aims to raise the profile and perception of public transport use in Stourbridge and the local region.

Tom Rhys Jones, Managing Director at Jefferson Sheard commented, "I really like this project, it's a bijou version of our Barnsley Interchange. It shows that exciting architecture and the sustainability agenda are compatible!"

The brand new development mixes public transport and retail, and will provide a more direct connection to the town centre for future passengers and pedestrians. The scheme has made use of recycled materials and our designers took advantage of daylight and natural ventilation to boost the interchange's sustainability credentials.

Geoff Inskip, Centro Chief Executive said “We wanted to make sure the new interchange not only promotes Stourbridge as a place to visit but also promotes the West Midlands as a region that has public transport facilities that are striking to look at and easy for passengers to use.”
