Barnsley College Urban Park Generation

Following successful completion of the new Barnsley College Campus (Phase One), works on Phase Two - the ‘Urban Park’ have started.

The idea behind the Urban Park is the creation of a community space for both the college users and the local public alike.

The design of the park is to incorporate areas of green landscaping and planted beds amongst a mix of hard landscaped areas with seating. Part of the space will be styled to reflect the character of an amphitheatre creating a performance space for the students.

A former college building that is now redundant is being demolished to create the space for this urban community area, the demolition is due for completion in January 2012.

The programme date for the completion of the Urban Park is targeted for the End of April 2012.
