Woolley Wood and Mansel Primary Schools Under Construction

“The children, staff, parents and governors from Woolley Wood are really excited by the news that the building of our new school is about to begin. The facilities that the new building will offer are going to enhance the opportunities that we provide for our children. We are all really pleased to be able to work closely with Mansel Primary School; it will be a partnership that will benefit both schools tremendously.”

Jefferson Sheard have begun work on site to provide primary school children with a brand new building and up to date facilities.

Woolley Wood and Mansel Primary Schools are working together to co-locate both sets of pupils in a new specially built school. Woolley Wood will be re-located and built adjoined to the existing Mansel Primary School, which is also undergoing major refurbishment.  The new school has been designed to accommodate children with severe and complex learning difficulties and disabilities (LDD) and an increased number of wheelchair users.

The design has incorporated many features specific to the needs of disabled children including unique facilities such as a hydrotherapy pool and an interactive sensory room. Pupils from both schools will benefit from the installation of new equipment and essential facilities.

Phased works are being carried out to ensure that Mansel Primary School can remain fully functional during the duration of the build. Completion of the project is due in spring 2012.
