Requirement:
Jefferson Sheard Architects were appointed by HG Construction to design a student accommodation block with teaching and learning facilities at Mile End Road, London.
Our solution
- We created a building consisting of three primary blocks tiered in height. Sustainability issues were addressed by incorporating features such as sedum roofing on two of the tiered blocks as well as ground source heating and cooling.
- Student accommodation occupies the majority of this building, with educational teaching facilities housed in the lower and ground floors.
- We created over 600 student rooms, fitted out with kitchenettes and pre-fabricated en-suite bathroom pods.
- Our appointment to carry out this project is a testimony to our ongoing accomplishment within the sector, as we were appointed directly on the back of our successful design works and completion of Tufnell Park student accommodation.
